Jaguar 'D' Type

The Jaguar based 'D' type uses donor parts from the series two or three Jaguar XJ6. The chassis is a combination of large box section and tubular modular construction giving immense strength and tensional ridged ness.

The front suspension is the Jaguar based fully independent system. Employing suitability factory modified components. The rear suspension utilises the majority of the original XJ6 parts again suitability modified giving the full benefit of the Jaguar fully independent suspension system.

 

 

Button Engine

Engine

The engine recommendation is the Jaguar six cylinder twin overhead cam shaft engine from the XJ6 donor Jaguar. This is best run on carburettors and can either utilise the original Jaguar twin SU or strongberg options. However three pairs of side draft Webber carburettors look and perform just right.

Button Gearbox

As most 'D' type owners prefer a manual transmission and most Jaguar XJ6's come in automatic form we recommend the use of the Rover/Jaguar five speed gearbox using our comprehensive fitting kit.

Button Back Axel

The back axel used is from the standard Jaguar XJ6 and fitted complete with modified drive shafts.

Button Brakes

The braking system is used from the donor Jaguar XJ6 with a choice of pacific brake hoses in a choice of standard form or braided reinforced ridged are supplied in high performance copper with brass unions. A pedal box is available to take dual line brake master cylinder, and clutch master cylinder, complete with built in throttle pedal.
